The Sweetest Words

After weeks of waiting to hear back from publishers, I received two responses from two different editors within the last two days.  I will admit, I performed a little happy dance after I read positive emails from each person.

I love hearing how I made the editor laugh OR how my spirit was still conveyed in the shortened version of my submission that will be going to print soon.  I don’t imagine I will ever grow tired of hearing that my written words meant something to someone else and that it will be published for others to read.  Those are just some of the sweetest words I can ever hear.

Of course it’s nothing compared to hearing “I Love You” or praises of compliments uttered by my children or my husband.  But it’s the next best thing!

I take photos of the words that I appreciate, enjoy or simply want to remember (just like the ones above).  When I’m having an off-day or one filled with a disappointing rejection, then I can look back at the pictures to remind me of my achievement.  I keep the notes to show that if I keep trying and pursuing my dreams, they will happen.
