Mandy Presents to United Way, “Money Can Buy Happiness When Spent Wisely on Others”
Mandy Fernandez presents talk on donating to United Way
Pensacola, Fla. – July 13, 2016 – Writer and speaker Mandy Fernandez led a presentation for United Way of Escambia County loaned executives on July 13. She delivered a seven minute speech entitled “Money can buy happiness when spent wisely on others” to go along with the theme for United Way’s mission.
United Way asked Mandy speak to speak to their team after hearing a presentation she gave at the Greater Pensacola Chamber gopher breakfast club event in May. United Way donor relations coordinator invited Fernandez to lead a presentation for their incoming volunteers. Fernandez then recruited five members from her Toastmasters club to join her in the special presentation.
“I was honored to lead a speaking engagement for United Way,” said Mandy Fernandez. “This was a special group to be a part of and it gave me the chance to chair a project within my Toastmasters club. I knew the United Way volunteers needed motivation and help in asking for donations within our community so I developed speeches tailored to their needs. I also included a specific TED Talk to reference throughout and after the event.”
Mandy organized the 55-minute presentation with three speeches, an emcee and helpful tips for United Way members to develop their speaking skills further. At the close, she had attendees put the speech skills into practice by having several members come up to perform impromptu table topics. United Way attendees said, “Mandy and her team were amazing. We loved their presentation and are so thankful they spoke to our group.”
