Conversations with my Kids: “I Like Your Boo-boos (Boobies)!”
I’m going to share funny things my children say from time to time here. Why?
1. Because they really are hilarious, and
2. So I won’t forget them and what they’re like at their current age.

Conversations with my Kids: “I Like Your Boo-boos (Boobies)!”
As I was drying off after my shower the other night, my two year old pointed to my bare breasts and initiated a discussion with me. The following hilarious conversation and giggles resumed.
Oh goodness, they don’t tell you these things in parenting classes!
Youngest Daughter (age 2): Pointing to my breasts, “I like your buttons!”
Me: “What?! These aren’t buttons. They’re boobies.”
Youngest Daughter (age 2): “I like your boo-boos!” she said smiling and grabbing at my breasts with both her hands.
Me: Trying so hard not to laugh, “They are called boobies, not boo-boos!”
Oldest Daughter (age 6) walks into the room after leaving to retrieve her pajamas and she witnesses the scene: “What is she doing?”
Youngest Daughter (age 2): “I like mommy’s boo-boos. I have boo-boos too.”
Oldest Daughter (age 6) “I have boo-boos too!” she laughs. Then she starts grabbing her own and pointing at them.
Me: No longer able to hold in my laughter, “Yes we all have boobies or boo-boos.”
Oldest Daughter (age 6): “Except ours are a lot smaller than yours.” laughing and looking at mine and her own.
Me: “Yes but yours are growing and will become bigger someday! Enjoy your tiny boo-boos now!”
All three of us continue to laugh and then we get dressed.
Ahh, these are fun times when my children are discovering body parts and I’m writing stories about them. It also reminded me of this piece I wrote for the Erma Bombeck writing competition.
I am sure this topic will come up again and again over the years with raising two girls! Hopefully our boobies and boo-boo’s will remain in tact, be healthy and continue to carry some dignity.
