Conversations with my Kids: The Friend’s Edition “When I Grow Up…”

I’m going to share funny things my children say from time to time here.  Why?
1. Because they really are hilarious, and
2. So I won’t forget them and what they’re like at their current age.

Conversations with my Kids:  The Friend’s Edition “When I Grow Up…”

when I grow up

In this special friend’s edition of conversations with my kids, I pay a tribute to one of my six year old’s best pals, Laura.  She and her sister Audrey came for a sleepover last weekend so their parents could have a one-night getaway.  My conversations with Laura are often as hilarious as they are with my own kids.  Laura is five years old and wise well beyond her years.  Just see for yourself in my discussion with her (below):

Laura (to me): “I still don’t know what I want to be when I grow up.”

Me: “Me neither!”

Laura: “But you’re a grown up!”

Me: “Yes I know, but I still don’t know what I want to be.”

Laura: “But you’re a parent.  That’s what you are.  That was your choice!” said very matter-of-factually.

Me: (laughing and a bit taken aback): “That’s very true.  You’re right about that.”

Laura: “And anyway, you’re still going to turn more numbers.”  (Her way of saying I am still going to grow older and age more years)

I just stopped there and laughed at her.  I love this girl as much as my own.  She is something else!  Thanks Laura!

Too funny! I should really write down some of the conversations I have with my girls or heck, even the ones they have with each other! The things they come up with sometimes...LOL

Yes, you should definitely write them down in a notebook or type them up on the computer and save it for later. You can read these things at the girls' wedding showers and baby showers. You will surely treasure them and I know they will too. I'm definitely trying to write down more! :-)
