Have Perserverance and Celebrate Success

Sometimes life can throw you a few curve balls.  But if you keep hitting and continue practicing your form, you will eventually knock that ball out of the park.  With determination and perseverance, any one of us can achieve success.

I go through bouts of pessimism before I find my optimism again.  This week I had a little bit of both but it’s ending in a very positive way.  I know that is because I kept at it, believed in myself and gave it my best.

I gave myself two goals for this month –
1) To try a new fitness workout six days a week for a month so I can tone up and fit better into my pants.
2) To apply and hopefully be selected for a leadership program at my work.

I’m so happy to report that I’ve achieved both of my goals!

1) I’ve woken up earlier to try a PiYo routine that a friend told me about and convinced me to try – a combination of moving pilates and yoga moves.  I quickly fell in love with it, doing it for 30 minutes each day right after I wake up.  No excuses and only one day off a week.
Those pants that were getting a bit tighter for awhile now have now loosened up.  Better yet, I am feeling stronger and back to my healthy body mindset again.

2) Yesterday I received news that I was chosen for that leadership program.  I’m one out of fifteen people who were selected.  I screamed with delight and did a happy dance when I discovered I was in.  I spent time and energy into the application process and the essay I wrote on why I should be chosen and why I wanted to join the program.  I’m so thrilled and honored that I’ll be entering into this networking and team-building opportunity.

This weekend my husband and I are going to celebrate my success and also celebrate an early anniversary getaway too!  Even if it rains and even if something goes wrong, we intend to take time to enjoy our achievements of 12 years of marriage and continuing to persevere in today’s often challenging world.

Be determined.  Be bold.  Try something new.  Push yourself.  Work toward a goal.

Then when you reach that goal, CELEBRATE IT!  Celebrate yourself.

Then make another goal and work towards that!   The only thing stopping your success is YOU!

Alright, I’m off to celebrate…. I hope anyone who reads this can find something to celebrate today too!
